Description
A good example of a vintage optician’s optometry optical full trial lens set.
The lenses are housed in a slotted tray that lifts out of the purpose built wooden case. The case has a lock but the key is not available.
All the slots within the case have a lens and there are extra lenses provided – all except four of the lenses appear to be from the original set with the four being replacements of a slightly later design.
We believe that this set dates back to around the 1930’s though would love to hear your thoughts on whether you agree or disagree.
The complete set has not been thoroughly checked to ensure each lens is represented against its slot The case is marked/scratched on the outside and the leather handle is worn – there is a lock built into the case but no key is provided as this is not available. Sold for display purposes.
