Description
This is a large and heavy panel most likely from a fairground / circus game or theatrical set that depicts Oriental fire dragons within the design and the initials “SP” feature centrally in white.
Hand painted on wood with small circular mirrors applied to each end and carved into a curved almost pelmet style shape, the general condition is good but there are obvious areas of wear to the paint and the bodywork of the wood – as associated with a piece of this age and working background.
There is what looks like a blemish in the top right hand area – this is a naturally occurring knot in the base wood and is visible on both sides of the piece – this is a used vintage piece with a travelling past and is sold on the understanding that the condition is as seen in the photographs provided.
