Description
A clean example of an Art Deco era 8 drawer filing cabinet made by Stone. This is an example of the Stone’s “Popular” Series of Cabinets and has the “cut away” style of drawers with brass handles.
The cut away drawer allows the user to easily remove items (papers / sheets of music etc) from the drawer due to the shape of the internal sides of the drawers and the cut away area allowing eager fingers easy access to the contents.
This cabinet is an 8 drawer model – a 4 drawer configuration was also available. Both could be ordered in different sizes and with cut away or flush sided drawers.
The approx dimensions of this cabinet are:
- Width = 18.5″ / 47 cm
- Height = 10.5″ / 27 cm
- Depth = 14.5″ / 37 cm
This cabinet is old and worn – we like them like that it is made of wood covered in fake (card or paper-based reptile skin/leather effect an is in places in worn cosmetic condition – the drawers run easily inside their compartments – there are small pieces of the sides missing to two of the drawers – all the brass handles are present and in good working condition – there is a crack to one of the sides.
