Description
Charlotte Fawley is a artist, art director and illustrator with an extensive portfolio of work that has built through her long association with theatre, namely ballet and opera where she continues to work at rehearsals at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as an invited artist.
Charlotte has had the opportunity to draw some of the greatest dancers in the world today including Darcey Bussell, Igor Zelensky, Teddy Kumakawa, Irek Mukhamedov and singers including the late Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, Jose Cura, Angela Gheorghiuand and many others.
This drawing features English ballet dancer Deborah Bull in the Royal Opera House production of Manon in 1998. In this production she played the role of Lescaut’s Mistress.
Also known as Debbie, Bull was invited to join the Royal Ballet in 1981, having toured with the company as a student during the summer, being promoted through the ranks and gaining principal status in 1992, immediately following the company’s opening performance in Japan, at which she danced the role of Gamzatti in La Bayadere..
During her twenty years in The Royal Ballet, she danced a wide range of work throughout the repertoire with leading roles in the classics including Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty and Kitri in Don Quixote.
This is an unmounted or framed original artwork hand-drawn in ink of ivory paper.
