Charlotte Fawley is a artist with an extensive portfolio of work that has built through her long association with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden where she works as an invited artist.

This drawing features former Royal Ballet principal dancer Tetsuya “Teddy” Kumakawa in the Royal Opera House production of the Prince of the Pagodas in 1998.

This is an unmounted or framed original artwork hand-drawn in ink of ivory paper.

Description

Charlotte Fawley is a artist, art director and illustrator with an extensive portfolio of work that has built through her long association with theatre, namely ballet and opera where she continues to work at rehearsals at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as an invited artist.

Charlotte has had the opportunity to draw some of the greatest dancers in the world today including Darcey Bussell, Igor Zelensky, Teddy Kumakawa, Irek Mukhamedov and singers including the late Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, Jose Cura, Angela Gheorghiuand and many others.

This drawing features Japanese ballet dancer and a former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet Tetsuya “Teddy” Kumakawa (born 5 March 1972) in the Royal Opera House production of the Prince of the Pagodas in 1998.

Teddy began studying Ballet at 10 years old; aged 15, he moved to the UK and trained at the Royal Ballet School, before joining The Royal Ballet in 1989 and becoming the youngest soloist in their history. He was promoted to first soloist in 1991, and principal dancer in 1993..
